Sunrise Chorus & breakfast with the composer

6.24am Sunrise Chorus - World premiere of this original symphonic composition of Clifford Bradley, commissioned to open Rangebow 2024

Sunrise in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland is a beautiful time of day to experience the unique landscape of forest, mountain, ocean and sky, best captured from the Blackall Mountain Range in Jinibara Country: birds and insects begin to wake; the wind through the trees and grasses hum unobstructed by ‘human’ interference.

This sensory feast is enhanced by the soundscape of a composition capturing this moment. Performed by a specially created 16 piece orchestra of professional artists and local Indigenous musicians and dancers.

The audience will have shared a journey through landscape, life and personal connection with this land and their community.

Composer, Clifford Bradley. Professional musicians from Paradiso Strings, Camarata, Topology and Queensland Symphony Orchestra. First Nations collaboration with Kerry Neill (Gubbi Gubbi Elder) and Lyndon Davies (Gubbi Gubbi Elder) on this original work.

6.45am Four Seasons (Vivaldi)

The delight in this shared community moment will continue as the Orchestra performs one of the most famous concertos connected to weather, landscape, emotions and feelings of the changing seasons with Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons”. This traditionally performed string ensemble piece will be especially arranged for our 16 piece orchestra (local professional musicians including flute, clarinet, oboe, cor anglais, bassoon, marimba, didgeridoo and French Horn as well as all strings). Four Seasons offers an opportunity to hear (in song) musical imitations of bird calls, murmuring streams, soft breezes, storms, dance, slumber, wind, frost and raindrops.
