Not to be missed, a Thursday evening pageant runway performance celebrates personal empowerment and creativity of 30 participants from the festival's Drag Run-a-away Workshops of Wednesday and Thursday morning. Mentored and accompanied by professional drag performers, Pineapple Queens and Bunya Kings will showcase their make-up, costume creation and a talent spot (tailored to each entrant's abilities) that involves dance, comedy, lip-syncing or a personally empowering strut on the runway. This event has the highest production values delivered by Ashley Swift, an acclaimed Australian drag performer and producer along with entertainer Nick Bozanic.
This pageant is like no other, featuring television and radio personality Dicko as your Host and transgender performer Sellma Soul from The Voice Australia. The judging panel includes Libby Harward, a Quandamooka woman of Moreton Bay: artist, art curator and co-founder of Munnimbah Dja Culture Centre, Maleny and Anne Koenig, the President of the Maleny chapter of Zonta International.
The performance provide a rare opportunity for our communities to experience world class talent working with local performers and with amateurs. This event helps bring purpose to the festival with strong messaging that diversity, inclusion and sustainability are woven into the lives of performers who might be our neighbour, our friend or our family member. This event celebrates individual empowerment within a community united behind our values.
Come join the fun and excitement of unforgettable runway appearances and performance. You will be surprised and perhaps delighted at local personalities having their moment in the spotlight.
Of course there will be no losers, but there will be a crowning glory: Our Rangebow Glambassador!
With a special guest appearance of the new very glamorous trio on the scene, The Sunshine Sisters, brought to you by Sunshine & Sons.
